Coaching Groups

The club is divided into training groups which cater for a wide range of ages and ability.

U11's and U13's Group

This group provides basic fitness and coaching to young newcomers in all events including running, jumping and throwing at under 11's and under 13's before they move on to event groups.

Coached by Kenny Gray,  Donald Wilson, Theresa Ferrie, Ian Stirrat, David Halliday, Sharon Waters, Senga Sinclair and Trish Little.

They train on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm.

Intermediate Group

This group is for male and female athletes who compete as under 15's and older, they receive coaching in track events up to 400m and a selection of jumps and throws events.

Coached by Colin Sinclair, Bob Tomlinson, Lorraine Dickson, Martin Taylor, Andy MacKinnon, David Jameson and Linsey MacLean.

They train on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm.

Sprints and Hurdles Group

This group specialise in sprints and hurdles events from 60m to 400m.

Sheila Atkinson and Hugh Baillie coach our Sprint Hurdles group that train on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7pm.

Endurance Groups

These groups provide training and competition in all events from 800 metres to Cross Country.

Coached by Charlie Murray, Jim Harvie, John Montgomery, Jason Boyle, Derek Watson, Lynn McGarry, Graham Smith and Kenny McVey.

They train at different times at several different venues.

Although we currently don't have a dedicated Jumps Group, Colin Sinclair, Donald Wilson and Martin Taylor will take Long Jump and High Jump sessions between their other commitments at training nights.

John Melvin has a dedicated High Jump group which trains on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings at the Kelvin Hall.
