Scotstoun Stadium
The official opening of the new Stadium will take
place on Thursday the 14th of January. The
facility is being opened by Princess Anne and will be
open to the general public from Saturday the 16th.

Our U11 and U13 group return to Scotstoun on Tuesday
the 19th of January and revert to their traditional
training nights of Tuesday's and Thursday's from 7pm.
The Middle Distance group, the Sprint Group, the
Combined Events group and the U15's and U17's group
will all return to Scotstoun from Tuesday the 19th.
Discussions are still ongoing with Culture and Sport
about the introduction of a Club swipe card but in the
meantime entry will be by cash at the door.
I would suggest that coaches who have not yet had a
tour of the facility arrive early on Tuesday to
familiarise themselves with the layout.

West
Highland Way
Many thanks to Peter Wilson who posted a link on the
Message Board to a well edited video from 1987.
The occasion was a successful relay attempt at the
West Highland Way and included many familiar names and
faces including Neil Hogg, Tony Malloy, Peter Wilson,
Barry McKay, Stuart Barnett (speedo), Jason Logan,
David Innes and Robert Blair.
The video itself is dedicated to the memory of
Wallace Crawford 1940-2000, a past Secretary of
Victoria Park who remained in post for more than 25
years.

Clubmark
Good news received on Friday the
18th of December from Scottish Athletics, the Club has
successfully completed the Clubmark accreditation
process.
This is just one
more step in providing a safe, effective and
child-friendly environment for our members.
The objectives of the Clubmark Programme are to:
- Guide clubs to
achieve a set of nationally recognised minimum
operating standards
- Modernise club
infrastructures
- Assist with club
development planning
- Help clubs identify
their aims and resource requirements
The focus of the changes within the Club have
included 'Management', 'Care and Welfare' and
'Coaching'.
A great deal of work was involved in changing many
of our procedures and we are very grateful to Ros
Halliday who worked tirelessly to achieve our
objectives.
The standards now set by the Club will continually
be monitored by the Committee and it's hoped this will
drive everyone on to greater success. |
