YAL
Division 1, Grangemouth, Sunday 27th May 2007
Our
athletes competed very well in shivery weather this
afternoon at Grangemouth. The new club colours were
well in evidence and, as one athlete was heard to
comment, the gear looked “relay” good (aye, right).
We had several winning
performances. The full results
can be found here,
but these include David Law in the U17 1500m
steeplechase in a time of 4:51.72, Suzanne Begg in the
U17 100m and 200m in times of 12.80 and 25.89
respectively, Gregor Innes and Lorn Menzies in the
400m in times of 53.38 for the A and 54.88 for the B,
Calum Innes in the 100m hurdles in a time of 14.18, Robbie Pollock in the
U13 70m hurdles with a PB of 15.07, Jo Moultrie in the
U17 300m, Lara Davidson in the U15 70m hurdles,
Lucinda Logan in the U17 high jump with a PB of 1.60
and the B 80m Hurdles in a time of 14.24, and Stuart
Ross in the U17 800m with a PB of 2.06.
Thank you to everyone for turning
out today, including our officials who volunteer so
readily. Everyone who takes part contributes to our
overall score, and there were dozens of gutsy
performances today; apart from the winners, special
mention also goes to Gavin Murty, who ran an excellent
1500m steeplechase ‘out of event’, and Chris Barnes,
who did likewise in the U17
100m.
In the U13 800m, Eve Dunlop ran an excellent time of
2:54.1, in the U13 Shot Putt Robbie Pollok made a PB
of 5.8m, and Michaela Stephen gained an excellent time
of 13.88 and third place in the U15 100m. Eilidh
McEvilly and Hope Kilgour both achieved PB’s in the
U13 70m Hurdles with times of 13.61 and 16.52
respectively.
The relay teams all battled very
well, and the U17 women and men both ended today’s
proceedings victoriously, giving us fourth place
overall for the day, subject to confirmation.
p.s. Athletes, please let us know
if you achieved a PB today which isn’t noted here, and
we’ll put it right.

Representing VP-Glasgow Summer 2007
Katharine Crichton
(track
and field secretary) has created a spreadsheet and
e-mailed it to our athletes. If you have not
received this, you should send an email to
John Innes (membership
secretary) and have him add your e-mail address to the
database.
You can
download the spreadsheet here.
It lists the competitions in which the club is entering
teams this coming season. Katharine has listed the
events (as far as we know them) that the athletes will
compete in each league.
Please indicate your interest and
availability by putting an X against the events for which
you wish to be considered. Showing interest doesn’t
mean definitely competing! Individual team managers will
select their team for each match closer to the date of
competition and list the team selections on the website
and by email.
You should return the completed
spreadsheet to
katharinepsc@yahoo.com by
31st March at the latest. If you have any questions or
concerns regarding this, please email her or talk to your
coach. |
