Young Athletes League- Final
VP-Glasgow finished in 6th place in the Scottish Final
of the Young Athletes League on Sunday the 17th of
August. Edinburgh and Giffnock were the worthy
winners and will be Scotland's representatives at the
UK Final.
As expected our athletes returned to Glasgow with a
tremendous haul of medals. Too numerous to list
here.
As usual though, the heroes on the day were the athletes who
volunteered for unfamiliar events and earned
additional and sometimes unexpected points for the
team.
Some of the athletes who caught the eye on the day
included Robbie Pollok who was 3rd in the U13 75m
Hurdles with a time of 14.86 and John Mulheron who was
2nd in the U15 80m Hurdles with a time of 12.65s.
Iona Wilson and Rachel Dick went head to head in the
U13 1200m with Iona finishing 6th with a time of
4:32.46 and Rachel finishing 2nd B with a time of
4:35.66.
Stephanie Ryan finished in 3rd place in the U13 Girls
800m with a time of 2:41.96 on her debut in a
VP-Glasgow vest.
Augusta Carmen was 1st in her debut in the U17 Pole
Vault with a clearance of 2m and Jax Thoirs was 1st in
the U17 Mens Pole Vault with a height of 3.60m.
