This group is for Males and Females who compete as under 15's
are coached by Colin Sinclair, Bob Tomlinson, Lorraine Dickson, Martin Taylor,
Andy MacKinnon, David Jameson and Linsey MacLean.
Colin and Martin are experienced in coaching most events, having competed for many years as
The group meets at Scotstoun Stadium every Tuesday and Thursday evening from
7pm till 8.30pm.
All athletes in the group should have a balanced programme including warm up, Stretching, Technique,
Coaching and warm down. The aim is to ensure that each athlete will have a
technically correct introduction to almost every athletic discipline. That way
we can guide each athlete into the event most suited to them but also allow them
to try every event as they grow and their size changes.
Each athlete should bring to each session
warm/waterproof clothing and a drink (water or sports drink)
Various competitions and National
Championships take place during the year and all of our athletes are encouraged
to take part.
a young athlete will only need to train 1-2 times a week. As the athlete
develops with experience the number of training units will increase this will
take into consideration the athletes physical, chronological and training age
and the amount of other sports participated in at school and in the evenings
A training year will take in the 4 Sís
stamina, strength, speed and suppleness.
